Blues are believed to be willing to offload the winger.
Liga giants FC Barcelona are interested in bringing Chelsea midfield player Juan Mata back to Spain this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The exciting Spain international has been at Stamford Bridge for the past two seasons now, having originally signed for the west London club from Liga outfit Valencia for £23.5 million on a five-year deal in Aug 2011.
And it is fair to say that in the intervening two-year period the 25-year-old has proved himself to be one of, if not the, most important players for the Blues, registering an impressive 32 goals and 59 assists in just his 118 appearances for the club in that time, including an equally eye-catching 12 goals and 17 assists in his 35 Premier League outings.
However, it is understood that new Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho is prepared to sell Mata to the Spanish giants this summer in order to help strengthen other more important areas of the team.
