Ex-Newcastle attacker has been a qualified success to date in his short time in the capital.
Chelsea front man Demba Ba may be sold by new Blues head coach Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese officially starts in his second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge next week, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
The skilful Senegal international has only been in west London since the turn of the year, when he was brought to the club by previous Blues boss Rafa Benitez from Newcastle United on a three-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee believed to be somewhere in the region of £7 million.
However, despite the 28-year-old managing to hit the back of the net on six occasions in 22 matches in all competitions, including two strikes in 14 Premier League outings during that time, the self-styled ‘Special One’ is understood to be willing to let the attacker depart the Uefa Europa League holders when the summer transfer window once again reopens for business on July 1.
