Blues are keen to strengthen in their wide areas for next season.
Chelsea are keen on signing highly-rated Atletico de Madrid midfield player Arda Turan, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The Turkey international has been with the Liga giants for two years now, having arrived in the Spanish capital from Galatasaray for 12 million euros in August 2011.
And in the intervening two seasons, the 26-year-old has proved himself to be one of the Continent’s most sought-after players, having found the back of the net on seven occasions in 63 Liga matches, as well as contributing 12 assists to the team cause in that time.
Meanwhile overall, the winger has netted nine goals in 83 matches in all competitions for Atleti, while also recording 20 assists as well, and it is that kind of eye-catching form that has reportedly attracted the attentions of the west London club.
Arda Turan is contracted to the Vicente Calderon until the end of June 2015 and is expected to cost the Blues £20m to purchase when the transfer window reopens on 1 July.
“Chelsea are involved with Arda and we won’t be able to match what they are offering,” said Galatasaray president Unai Aysal.
“I met with the head of Atletico Madrid, he told me that there were three players the club definitely do not want to sell, one of them being Arda Turan.”
