Blues gearing up for January chase.
Chelsea are ready to match Premier League rivals Manchester United in offering £10 million to sign want-away Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira in January, report the Express, with the German international looking set for a Premier League move when the window reopens.

Khedira opted to stay at the Bernabeu this summer despite plenty of interest from the Premier League, but has turned down the club’s offer of a new contract and, with his deal set to expire at the end of the season, the European champions may well cash in on him in January.
A World Cup winning box-to-box midfielder, the only concern with Khedira may be his fitness, but for £10m the opportunity to sign such a seasoned performer represents a real opportunity for clubs – although it is hard to see where he fits into a Chelsea side that have seen a fine partnership blossom between Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas.
