Chelsea are preparing to make a move for Tottenham defender Danny Rose, according to reports.
The Blues are in desperate need to sign another left-back following the departure of Felipe Luis to Atletico Madrid, and The Mirror reports that Jose Mourinho is keen to tie up a deal to bring Rose to Stamford Bridge.
While a deal for Augsburg starlet Baba Rahman is understood to still be on, Rose is a cheaper option.
According to the report, Chelsea have asked its London rivals to name their price for the 25-year-old, and it is believed the Premier League champions are willing to pay up to £15m in order to lure Rose to Stamford Bridge.
A £17m deal for Rahman is expected to be finalised should Chelsea not come to an agreement with Tottenham over Rose.
The signing of Rose would help Chelsea boost its quota of homegrown players, and the former Leeds United youngster would provide strong competition to Cesar Azpilicueta for a starting spot at left-back.
