Blues eyeing Arsenal and Liverpool target.
Chelsea are hopeful of beating Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of striker Burak Yilmaz by offering Demba Ba in part-exchange, reports the Daily Express.
Yilmaz was linked with away from Galatasaray this summer after bagging eight goals in just nine Champions League appearances last season.
But, despite almost joining Serie A outfit Lazio, the 28-year-old remained in Turkey and Blues boss Jose Mourinho is plotting a fresh move for the forward.
The Portuguese was put off by Yilmaz’s £20m price tag this summer but that fee would be significantly reduced if Ba was included.
The former Real Madrid boss praised Yilmaz ahead of Los Blancos’ Champions League quarter-final against Galatasaray last summer, saying: “Drogba, Sneijder and Burak [Yilmaz] could play for any team in the world.”
Ba, who has yet to score a league goal this season and was linked with Arsenal in the summer, is thought to be open to the idea of moving to Istanbul to link up with new boss Roberto Mancini.
