Blues want Stephen El Shaarawy at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are willing to offer Fernando Torres plus cash for AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy, according to Italian source Sport Mediaset.
Edinson Cavani remains the Blues’ top target but the London outfit are ready to turn to Milan’s Italian international after growing frustrated at Napoli’s stalling over their move for the Uruguay forward.
Napoli are demanding €52m for Cavani, with Chelsea reportedly willing to pay just €41m but the clubs are set for further talks in Naples on Tuesday.
If a resolution is not found, new Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho has already chosen El Shaarawy as a ‘Plan B’ and is willing to offer Torres to the Rossoneri to sweeten the deal.
The Special One admitted the Spain international striker, who cost the Blues £50m in 2011, had to improve next season, leading to suggestions he would be sold to fund a summer of big spending.
Milan would be reluctant to lose Italy international El Shaarawy but are thought to be willing to negotiate with both Chelsea and Torres.
This move would be bad news for Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp:
