The Brazil international has long been regarded as one of the club’s most solid defensive players, and has attracted plenty of interest since his superb form for Atletico last season helped them to an unlikely title win in La Liga, as well as on a run to the Champions League final.
Chelsea already have a number of options at the back, but could do with more depth as Kurt Zouma is currently the only backup to John Terry and Gary Cahill, and remains an inexperienced youngster.
Miranda is not currently a regular in Diego Simeone’s side, though he remains a top talent who could prove a useful member of Chelsea’s squad, with the Daily Mirror reporting that he is on their radar this summer.
