Chelsea transfer news
The Belgian youngster left Stamford Bridge last summer to seal a permanent transfer to Everton, the team he spent the 2013/14 season with on loan, and his departure was seen as slightly controversial.
The 21-year-old has long been regarded as an outstanding prospect for the future, having been snapped up by Chelsea as a teenager at Anderlecht, but he was allowed to move on in favour of signing older players such as Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba.
Lukaku’s new agent Raiola has now slammed Chelsea for their mistake, saying that the youngster is already a superior player to Costa and that he will surely play for a big club again one day in the future, mentioning Manchester United as one of his possible destinations.
“If we had met each other earlier, he would not have played for Everton,” Raiola said.
“I want to be clear: Romelu is a better striker than Diego Costa and could have done the same as the Spaniard did this season.
“Later on, he’ll play for one of the world’s best teams: PSG, Manchester City, Manchester United or Bayern Munich.
“Nothing is impossible as Rom has great potential.”
