The reigning Premier League champions will almost certainly end this season trophyless after a dreadful recent run of form looks to have all but ended their slim hopes of retaining their crown.
Critics have slammed City’s ageing squad as one of the reasons for their downfall, with manager Manuel Pellegrini now looking to some top class youth to breathe new life into the Etihad Stadium camp next season.

With 14 goals and 22 assists in all competitions this season, Wolfsburg starlet Kevin De Bruyne looks one of the best attacking midfielders out there at the moment after this outstanding campaign. The Belgian international, 23, couldn’t get a game during his time with Chelsea, but City are now looking the favourites to bring him back to the Premier League.
