Chelsea hopeful of bringing Bundesliga youngster to Stamford Bridge, though selling club hugely disappointed to lose their talent.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with the signing of VfL Wolfsburg youngster Julian Brandt, but the Bundesliga club say that the 17 year-old will not leave in January.
However, Wolfsburg concede that Brandt will begin his senior career away from Volkswagen Arena, and Blues boss Jose Mourinho remains hopeful of bringing the teenager to Stamford Bridge.
“There are no signs that indicate that he is going to move before next summer,” said Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs in an interview translated by Inside Futbol.
However, with the wonderkid revealing he would leave for pastures new at the end of the season, Allofs could not hide his disappointment.
“He could have taken his first professional steps with us,” concluded the Wolfsburg director.
Club manager Dieter Hecking added that he felt Brandt never had any intention of committing his future to VfL Wolfsburg.
“I never felt that he was going to get involved in the negotiations”, said Hecking.
