Liverpool transfer rumours
Drogba is out of contract at the end of the season, and The Mirror reports the Blues sent scouts to run their eye over Lambert during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over QPR on Saturday.
The 37-year-old Ivorian has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge behind Diego Costa and Loic Remy, and with Jose Mourinho looking to bolster his attacking options, it seems Drogba may be forced out the exit door.
Lambert knocked back an offer from Aston Villa in January after struggling for minutes at his boyhood club, but it is believed he is looking to move on.
The 33-year-old would no doubt be used as back-up for Costa and Remy, with the England international reportedly worth around £5m.
Chelsea will get a closer look at Lambert this weekend as the Reds travel to Stamford Bridge to face the Blues on Sunday.
