Bayern Munich join chase for Chelsea target
Chelsea look set to face competition from Bayern Munich for the signing of in-demand AS Roma centre-back Mehdi Benatia, according to L’Equipe.
The Moroccan international was in superb form in Serie A last season, and has also attracted attention from Manchester United this summer, though a move to the Bundesliga now looks to be on the cards.
Chelsea had been keen on signing another defender to replace the departing David Luiz, who signed for Paris Saint-Germain earlier in this transfer window.
