Former Chelsea boss appointed Greece manager
Former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri has been appointed as the new manager of the Greek national team on a two-year contract, according to BBC Sport.
The Italian tactician, most recently in charge of Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, spent four years at Chelsea between 2000 and 2004, and has been at a high number of teams since then, though this is his first stab at international football.
Greece reached the last 16 of this summer’s World Cup, and will be expected to qualify for the European Championships in two years’ time.
