Although Cesar Azpilicueta filled in admirably in the role last term, the Spain international is naturally right-sided and may well revert back to that position in 2014/15.
Therefore Mourinho is on the lookout for support at the back and with bags of experience Felipe is seen as the ideal candidate – although at 28-years-old is hardly a signing for the future.
