De Rossi at the centre of speculation between two European giants.
Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi is expected to be courted by both Chelsea and Real Madrid this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Italian capital before, but has regularly stated his desire to remain with the club he has been with since the start of his career.
However, with both injuries and form limiting him last season, speculation has resurfaced that he may well quit the Stadio Olimpico this summer, with both Chelsea and Real Madrid paying close attention.
Carlo Ancelotti is widely expected to take the Real Madrid managerial hot-seat when all the respective domestic seasons have drawn to a close. The Italian tactician attempted to sign his compatriot while in charge at Chelsea, and looks set to reignite his interest.
Meanwhile, his predecessor Jose Mourinho, who is expected to swap Madrid for London as he returns to Chelsea, is also a fan of the combative midfielder.
Gazzetta believe that the Blues will test the resolve of Roma with a €24m bid for the club vice-captain, as reported by football-italia.net.
However, it is still unclear as to whether he wishes to leave the club at this stage, having already dismissed the advances of Manchester City last summer.
De Rossi had been expected to follow in the footsteps of club legend Francesco Totti in staying in Rome for his entire career, but following another disappointing campaign he may well desire a change in scenery.
