Mourinho set to raid former rivals Sporting Lisbon for Liverpool target Tiago llori.
Chelsea have joined the race to sign young defender Tiago Llori from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
Liverpool have been interested in the 20-year-old for several weeks, with the Daily Mirror reporting that the Anfield club have had two bids for the defender rejected. Now, Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the rising star to England and could be prepared to meet Sporting’s £8.5m valuation.
Llori was an ever-present member of the Sporting defence in the latter stages of last season, scoring one goal from 12 appearances.
The Portuguese youth international has previously stated that he would like to move to the Premier League, although any English club would face competition from La Liga giants Valencia for his signature.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has already brought one defender to the club this summer as he looks to fill the gap left by the retiring Jamie Carragher, with ex-Arsenal centre-half Kolo Toure arriving on Merseyside on a free transfer from Manchester City.
Other defender’s have also been linked with a move to Anfield, including PSG’s French international Mamadou Sakho, who made 24 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions last season.
