Begovic has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with the news Petr Cech is likely to leave the Premier League champions after dropping behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order between the sticks.
According to Metro, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has made Begovic a priority target this summer as the club is resigned to losing Cech.
The 27-year-old has impressed for the Potters since joining from Portsmouth in 2010, but would most certainly play second-fiddle to Courtois.
Begovic is aiming to seek assurances that he will see playing time at the Blues, however it’s hard to see the Bosnia & Herzegovina international knocking Courtois from the number one spot.
His move will depend on Cech’s future and it could become a drawn-out process with Mourinho publicly stating he will attempt to block the 33-year-old’s rumoured move to Arsenal.
