Chelsea are very interested in young Dutch midfielder Jordy Clasie, reports Football Direct News.
The midfielder has already won seven caps for the excellent Dutch national team, despite being only 22-years-old, and his performances this season with Feyernoord have suitably impressed Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea scouting staff.
This term, he’s been ever present, making 32 appearances in total, and earning praise for his crisp passes.
He acts as a deep-lying playmaker, which maximises his strong technical qualities and ability to dictate tempo and help his side dominate possession. For this reason, he’s been touted as the ‘Dutch Xavi’, or as a long-term replacement for Andrea Pirlo at Juventus.
While Chelsea have physical and dynamic midfielders like Nemanja Matic and Ramires, Clasie would add some class and guile that is arguably currently lacking.
Players signed from Holland are usually relatively cheap, and with a price tag potentially as low as £6m, this potential transfer seems a no brainer.
