4) Why did Cesc Fabregas dip so dramatically?
After a great start, it must be said that Chelsea fans would be right to be concerned about Cesc Fabregas’ dip in the second half of the season. Although the Spaniard will still go down as a great signing, the former Arsenal man has had a habit of getting tired in recent years, struggling with the same issue in his three seasons at Barcelona. Is this why the Gunners decided against re-signing their former captain? Is playing regularly since the age of 17 starting to take its toll?
5) Why did Barcelona let Alexis Sanchez leave?
Okay, they had Luis Suarez coming in, and after winning a treble there’s no one at Barcelona who’ll be worried about Alexis Sanchez, but what a player to let leave for just under £35m. The Chilean has been utterly world class in the Premier League and must be one of the signings of the season in Europe. Perhaps the question would more rightly be, why did no other big spenders challenge the Gunners more strongly for his signature?
6) Is Olivier Giroud good enough for Arsenal?
A question that we still don’t know the answer to. Despite his best season in an Arsenal shirt, the same old doubts remain over Olivier Giroud. Despite some big-game performances, great goals, assists and all-round quality, people always point to him if Arsene Wenger’s side fail to kill off a big team. Some bigger names are now being linked with the club, but are people too harsh on the French forward?
