10) Why does Raheem Sterling want to leave?
Offered huge money, given a starring role in a team that, despite its faults this year, should be on the up under Brendan Rodgers – why does Raheem Sterling so desperately want to leave Liverpool? The 20-year-old will have all the time in the world to move to a bigger club later on if things don’t work out at Anfield, but why risk halting his development by joining a Real Madrid or a Chelsea so early, where he very feasibly might not play?
11) Why can’t Tottenham move forward?
Even without spending ridiculous amounts on unproven players, Tottenham still couldn’t build a cohesive team this season. Even with the excellent Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, the north Londoners’ same problems remained, and if not for the surprise form of Harry Kane up front they likely would have finished much lower than they did. With a seeming allergy to the top four, Spurs just can’t ever seem to strike the right formula and edge their way into the Champions League.
12) How many more chances for Andy Carroll?
Still considered a top Premier League player, it was another injury-plagued season for Andy Carroll at West Ham United. How long can this go on before the very generously paid England international finds his future more seriously under scrutiny? It is now close to five years since we saw Carroll consistently on top form and scoring goals at this level, so why does he remain linked with big clubs like Newcastle United? Should we now be talking about a player who must step down to the lower leagues in an attempt to revive his career?
