Jose Mourinho is believed to be an avid man of Stones, however Daily Star reports the Toffees are not willing to allow one of its most prized possessions to leave the club for any less than its £32m valuation of the 21-year-old.
In an interview with TalkSport, Terry lavished praise on the Chelsea transfer target saying the former Barnsley man was a star in the making.
“I have seen a lot of games and I am a big fan of his,” Terry is quoted as saying by Daily Star.
“He pulls wide of the box and wants the ball and for a young defender to do that in the Premier League takes some guts.
“He is exceptional with both feet, he is a ball-playing centre half which you need to be these days.
“He is extremely confident.
“He looks to play from the back and that can only be good for English football that the likes of him are coming through.
“He is definitely one I have been impressed by.”
Stones is highly-rated by Everton and it is unlikely Roberto Martinez would want to lose the centre-back even if Chelsea match the £32m valuation.
Everton finished a disappointing 11th last term and the pressure will be on the Spanish manager to push the club make into contention for a European spot.
