Cesc Fabregas opens up about the recent defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas has discussed the side’s shock New Year’s Day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, with the Spanish international suggesting that the Blues squad were stunned by the reverse – although the result perhaps did not reflect the way that the game went.

The Blues were simply blown away by a Tottenham team playing through the in-form striker Harry Kane and, despite taking an early lead, they were soon playing catch up to a side putting in perhaps their best performance of the season.
Fabregas has insisted in quotes from the Standard, that whilst the 5-3 defeat came as a huge surprise, it has not dented confidence in the Stamford Bridge camp and Jose Mourinho’s side are now only looking into the future:
“Losing to Tottenham like we did was a shock, but when you watch the game again you see that every chance they had, they scored.”
“It was one of those days where we hit the post, Ramires and Cesar Azpilicueta also had a chance. Things didn’t go our way, but credit to Tottenham, they played a good game. But that’s it, we are just looking to move forward now.”
