Cech had been the No.1 choice between the sticks at Stamford Bridge for a decade before Thibaut Courtois returned from three successful years on-loan at Atletico Madrid in the summer.
As a nod to the future manager Jose Mourinho has decided to give the stopper 10 years junior to the Czech Republic international a chance in goal and so far the 22-year-old has impressed.
This has however left Cech somewhat in the cold and having worked with the 32-year-old for two years whilst in charge of the Blues, Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti sees the ‘keeper as the ideal solution to his own problem.
Despite being the skipper at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu the form of Casillas has been poor in recent times and this decline is exacerbated by the fact that £7.9m summer signing Keylor Navas has failed to truly make an impression either.
As a result Ancelotti is looking to alternatives and with so much experience under his belt and the likeliness that he wants to be playing more regularly, sees no better options available than Cech.
The Italian is ready to make a January move for the Czech ace and Mourinho is ready to accept in order to help his own chances of signing Sami Khedira from Los Blancos.
