Blues ace could miss next two-years for the army.
Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah may be forced to return to his native Egypt to serve out his military service, according to Egyptian football website KingFut.
The news comes as a shock due to a ruling from the African country’s Minister for Education, though as of yet there has been no date set for when he would be made to return.
Salah’s registration for an education program was rescinded by the department, meaning that the Chelsea man may now have to return to Egypt to carry out his military obligations, with short-term conscription mandatory for Egyptian men in Salah’s age group.
However, it is not known exactly why his registration was revoked.
Salah is said to be in a state of shock and quite upset at the news, as there was no prior indication that this may happen during his time with Swiss side FC Basel.
Salah only joined the Stamford Bridge outfit back in January, but has yet to force his way into the first team on a regular basis.
Should he be conscripted, he will not be allowed to leave the country for the duration of his military service.
