Chelsea playmaker Oscar has reportedly claimed Jose Mourinho tried to sign him for Real Madrid and says the Portuguese has ‘always loved’ his style of play.
The 22-year-old joined Chelsea from Porto Alegre outfit Internacional in summer 2012 and quickly settled into English football, making 34 league appearances last season under Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez.
The Brazil international has also impressed Mourinho, who returned to Stamford Bridge this summer, securing the no.10 role ahead of two-time Blues player of the year Juan Mata.
And, according to reliable twitter account @BrazilStats, Oscar has claimed Mourinho tried to sign him when the Special One was in charge at Real Madrid.
The news follows Mourinho’s admittance that he tried to sign Shinji Kagawa for Real Madrid while the Japanese was still at Dortmund, suggesting the former Inter Milan boss was keen to add an additional attacking playmaker to his Los Blancos squad.
