The Brazilian star, who also holds dual Portuguese nationality, is a former teammate of current Blues star Willian before he made the move to Stamford Bridge in 2013.
And despite working hard on a deal to bring Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado to west London, Jose Mourinho is keen to reunite the duo this month.
The 24-year-old has been on Chelsea’s watch list for since he was teenager, and reports are claiming that a £16m bid has already been submitted.
Costa currently only has two caps for his national side, and having failed to win a regular spot he is hoping that a switch to the Premier League will help him become a regular for the Selecao.
