The Spanish international was heavily criticised for his antics in this match, which Chelsea won 1-0 to book a place in the final of the competition, but seems to believe he has a chance of protesting his innocence.
The incident with Can was not the only one in the game, with Costa also seen to deliberately stand on Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel.
The stamps were not seen by referee Michael Oliver during the game itself, but Costa now faces missing this weekend’s crucial game against Manchester City.
