The African star is not concerned by the speculation about his age.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Chelsea this week has been about Jose Mourinho’s leaked comments concerning the strike force at the club.
In what the manager thought was a private conversation at a sponsors event the 51-year-old made light of how old striker Samuel Eto’o was and also the limited capabilities of the current forwards at Stamford Bridge.
Since then an ex-girlfriend of the Cameroon international, Anna Baranca, has revealed that she was told that the Blues star was born in 1974 – making Eto’o 39-years-old.
Even former coach of the Cameroonian national team Claude Le Roy waded in on the debate, claiming the attacker was very angry at the comments from Mourinho.
However, after the 1-1 draw with Galatasaray in the Champions League last-16 on Wednesday the player spoke out for the first time about what the boss had said.
Eto’o #CFC to BeIn on Jose comments. ‘It takes more than that to upset me. I scored 3 v #MUFC, & am still scoring at 35, 36, right?’

Clearly Eto’o is not paying too much attention to what Mourinho has suggested and as the African points out, if he’s still scoring what does it matter how old he is?
Since arriving from Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer of 2013 the three-time Champions League winner has netted eight times for the west London club in all competitions.
