The Frenchman finished the campaign with 25 goals in all competitions, and naturally that has led to questions being asked about his future at the club.
However, he has insisted that he hasn’t considered a move away from the Spanish capital, even though speculation has suggested that Chelsea are monitoring him.
“No one came to me with anything and I repeat that I only want to help the team. I only think of Atletico. I just came to this club and want to grow further with Atletico. So my thought is to stay here,” he told AS.
His comments will be a blow to Jose Mourinho, with the Portuguese tactician remaining relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer.
Asmir Begovic came in to replace Petr Cech, while Radamel Falcao is the only other notable arrival ahead of the new season.
