The Blues are hopeful they can still land Baba Rahman, but have their eyes on Layvin Kurzawa in case things don’t work out.
After a bitter 2-2 draw against Swansea city that saw numerous defensive struggles, Chelsea have lined up a bid for Monaco defender Layvin Kurzawa to get a shot in the arm.
According to the Metro, Chelsea are lining up a transfer bid for Kurzawa in the event that an impending transfer for Augsburg star defender Abdul Baba Rahman falls apart.
Layvin Kurzawa has made 73 appearances for the Monaco defense since his senior debut in 2010. He was named to the 2013-14 Ligue 1 UNFP Team of the Year after leading Monaco to a 2nd place finish on the Ligue 1 table in the same year as their promotion from Ligue 2.
Chelsea was humiliated in a draw against Swansea City, with starting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois drawing a red card and the defense falling apart in the opener at Stamford Bridge.
