Italian international said to be anxious after rumours linking him with exit.
AC Milan starlet Stephan El Shaarawy is set for a meeting with Adriano Galliani on Tuesday to discuss the speculation surrounding his future according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 20-year-old has been linked with an exit this summer, after the Milan chief admitted last month that the club would find it difficult to reject a big-money bid.
Interest from the Premier League is said to be strong, with both Manchester City and Chelsea reportedly interested in signing the Italian international.
At this stage it is unclear as to whether the Rossoneri will actively attempt to sell their top scorer from last season, but El Shaarawy is expected to sit down with Galliani having now returned from the Confederations Cup.
Italy boss Cesare Prandelli revealed during the tournament that El Shaarawy appeared mentally and physically fatigued, hence the reason behind his lack of playing time.
It is understood that the speculation surrounding his future has played heavily on him over the past few weeks, as he has continued to state his desire to remain with the club.
Despite promising supporters last summer that they would no longer need to sell players to balance the books, Galliani appears to be open to the possibility to sacrificing El Shaarawy in order to target other players this summer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva both left the club for PSG almost twelve months for the very same reason, and it is unclear as to whether El Shaarawy will be the latest star to be sacrificed.
What is clear is that Milan must sell before they can buy, but having labelled the starlet as the future of both Milan and Italy along with Mario Balotelli, it remains to be seen whether that partnership will be broken up just six months after it was forged.
