Everton defender John Stones continues to be strongly targeted by Chelsea, as they have prepared to make a fourth bid reportedly worth around £40m.
The Blues have suffered a blow, however, as the Daily Star reports Stones will not hand in a transfer request to leave Goodison Park.
Following Everton’s 2-0 loss to Mancheser City, various reports suggested the English youngster was ready to hand in a transfer request in order to force a move to Chelsea.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez insists the 21-year-old defender is not for sale, and convincing him to sell Stones seems to be out of the question at this point.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has already angered Everton, with Martinez making his displeasure known after accusing Mourinho of publicising negotiations between the two teams.
The Blues look set to miss out on Stones this summer but have already bolstered its defence following the signing of Augbsurg starlet Baba Rahman.
