One Brazilian out but another in, as Chelsea travel to the Britannia.
Centre-back David Luiz will still be missing for Chelsea for Saturday’s trip to Stoke City with a knee injury but striker Samuel Eto’o and attacking midfielder Oscar are back in contention.
“David Luiz is out, I don’t know when I’ll have him back,” boss Jose Mourinho said at a press conference.
“[Samuel] Eto’o is fine and back with the group, Oscar is also much better and I have to decide whether to play him or not, but he’s much better. It was the injury against Southampton, something in his ankle, but he’s much better.”
Mourinho also said that he would hand England left-back Ashley Cole a start this week.
“Tomorrow or Wednesday Ashley Cole will play. It’s a position where I have alternatives, I have two players for the same position but it’s logical that I don’t give [Cesar] Azpilicueta four matches without giving Ashley one.”
