talkSPORT site French newspaper L’Equipe as claiming Jose Mourinho has identified the Ghanaian as an ideal full-back target following his move from second-tier German side Greuther Fürth to the the Bundesliga last summer.
Several media outlets, including The Guardian, reported last night that the Blues are set to allow Filipe Luis to return to Atletico Madrid just one season after coming to Stamford Bridge, a deal which would free up a spot in Premier League champions’ squad for Rahman.
The 20-year-old is widely considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and despite his age, has already made 11 appearances for the Ghanaian national team – and featured at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations for the Black Stars.
However, The Sun claim big-spending rivals Manchester City are also interested in a deal for the left-back, seeing as a long-term replacements for Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy and has even been watched by top scout Gary Worthington.
