Stamford Bridge club keen to avoid depreciation on £18m Belgian starlet.
Chelsea are poised to offer a new contract to Everton loanee Romelu Lukuku, according to The Independent.
The 21-year-old forward has only started one Premier League game for Chelsea since joining the West London club from Anderlecht in August 2011.
He has spent the last two seasons out on loan, scoring 17 and 15 league goals for West Bromwich Albion and Everton respectively.
The Independent claims that Jose Mourinho is prepared to sanction another loan exit for Lukaku and that the Chelsea boss hopes such a move will allow the player to impress and keep his market value high.
The paper also suggests that Mourinho wants Lukaku to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge to protect Chelsea’s investment.
Everton are said to be keen to retain Lukaku’s services this summer and the Toffees are reportedly willing to spend £20m to sign him on a permanent basis.
Lukaku’s current deal at Chelsea is due to expire in June 2016.
