Chelsea are attempting to defend their title by signing a defender to add to their already outstanding unit, and they have aggressively pursued Everton’s John Stones.
They are also going after Augsburg defender Baba Rahman, and the Daily Star reports that they have raised their bid offer to £25m for the Ghana international.
The Bundesliga club have already rejected an offer from Chelsea that was worth £17.5m, as they are aware of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid also expressing interest in Rahman.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to maintain depth at left-back, as Filipe Luis has departed for Atletico Madrid after one season at Stamford Bridge.
Luckily for Mourinho, the Ghana international wants to play for a championship club, according to his agent.
“Chelsea made an attractive offer. It is Baba’s dream to play for a top club. He would like to take this opportunity,” Sacha Empacher said.
Rahman may be the ideal long-term solution at left-back for the Blues, as he is only 21 years old and has his best years ahead of him.

This would soften the blow of losing out on Stones, who is also 21. He is expected to stay at Everton, as the club look dead set on rejecting all bids for him this summer.
Mourinho even revealed that he would not make a third bid after having his second one worth £26m declined.
