The Blues want a more youthful frontline next season, with 37-year-old Drogba playing an unexpected number of games this season due to repeated injury problems for the likes of Diego Costa and Loic Remy upfront.
Although fans welcomed the return of this club legend last summer after a few years away, Drogba now looks somewhat past his best and may not be the most suitable option for Jose Mourinho’s squad next season.

Mourinho himself has distanced himself from the decision, saying Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will decide what to do with the veteran forward, but it is thought that the likes of Austin and Dybala are being looked at by the London giants.
Austin has been in fine form for QPR this season despite their relegation fight, while Dybala looks a terrific prospect after some prolific form in Italy.
