Blues boss keen to add midfield dribbler.
Chelsea are set to to rival Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Algerian World Cup star Yacine Brahimi this summer, according to Inside Futbol.
The 24-year-old garnered some interest in his services last season whilst turning out for La Liga outfit Granada, but further enhanced his reputation this summer by helping Algeria make it through to the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time in their history.
Tottenham have been keeping an eye on his situation in Spain, and earlier on in the campaign Everton had been rumoured to be showing an interest in his signature.
However, sources in Spain are now suggesting that The Blues are in poll position to snap him up after Jose Mourinho was impressed by what he saw of him in Brazil.
The midfielder made 35 appearances in La Liga for Granada last term, chipping in with three goals along the way as the club struggled to a 15th place finish.
Having graduated from the prestigious Clairefontaine academy in France, he made his breakthrough with Rennes before making the permanent switch to Granada in 2013.
He represented France at various youth levels before switching his allegiance to Algeria, for whom he has collected seven caps, scoring one goal.
