Everton, Juventus, Liverpool and Roma are also keen on Verona loanee Iturbe.
The race to sign Hellas Verona loan star Juan Iturbe is hotting up as Chelsea move ahead of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, according to talkSPORT.
The winger is currently on a season long loan in Serie A from FC Porto and Everton, Juventus and AS Roma have all also shown interest in recent times.
Verona have been enjoying a great return to the Italian top tier this season after an 11 year absence and five goals and two assists from Iturbe have helped them to their current position of seventh.
The club would like to take the 20-year-old on-loan again next term, but Porto are keen in cash in whilst demand for the Argentinian is high.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho has a great relationship with the Portuguese champions after winning five trophies in two years as manager there between 2002 and 2004, including successive league titles and the Champions League.
This development will be particularly frustrating for the Reds, who are desperate to sign a new winger and have already seen two moves hijacked by the west Londoners in recent times.
Back in the summer of 2013 Mourinho stole the march on the Merseyside club and Tottenham Hotspur by landing Willian and then in the January transfer window it was a similar story as they signed Mohamed Salah ahead of Brendan Rodgers at the 11th hour.
The Northern Irishman also missed out on Yevhen Konoplyanka in January as well and now Iturbe looks ready to bypass Anfield too.
