Replacing Cole will not be easy though due to the consistent brilliance of the Englishman at both domestic and international level.
As good as Azpilicueta has been as well there is certainly going to need to be at least one purchase on the left side of defence and Shaw is looking the most likely as an option.
The self-confessed Chelsea fan is just 18-years-old and yet has bags of experience with Southampton and could be a great long-term prospect.
