The Blues boss wants to keep Cole and has responded to speculation surrounding New York’s Henry.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has responded to speculation that Arsenal legend and New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry thinks Ashley Cole should join him.
The former Gunners captain played with Cole in north London for seven years and they were part of the side that won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.
With the left-back finding opportunities at Stamford Bridge limited currently and the 33-year-old’s contract expiring in the summer, Henry had suggested the defender joined him in New York, according to the Daily Star.
However, despite preferring Cesar Azpilicueta on the left side of defence ahead of Cole for much of this term, Mourinho has said that the England international does have a future in west London and has some choice words for the Red Bulls star as well.

The full-back joined the Blues from north London in 2006 in controversial circumstances, after Arsenal believed Chelsea had tapped up their player.
Cole eventually made the switch for £5m plus William Gallas going the other way and has since enjoyed nearly eight years of success at the Bridge.
The defender has played 332 matches for the club to date and has won the Premier League title, Champions League, Europa League and four FA Cups – making the Englishman the record winner of the competition with seven triumphs.
Cole is also one of only eight players ever to receive more than 100 caps for the Three Lions, with 106 appearances currently.
