Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur, who has links with De Bruyne, confirmed the deal was progressing, while Philip Harmeling, a football agent and journalist from Wolfsburg, said the winger is already a Wolfsburg player.
Negotiations between #CFC & Wolfsburg on De Bruyne are going in right direction. Some important details still to clear. Deal later today?

I have no clue about the deal. Last info I got was a loan. Whatever, we can be sure that KdB will wear a green shirt for the next year.

It remains to be seen if De Bruyne, 22, will join the Bundesliga outfit permanently or on loan but Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs, the man who brought De Bruyne to Werder Bremen in summer 2012, admitted a deal is not far off.
“Some papers already announced the deal is done, but that’s premature,” said Allofs.
“We can’t announce a deal yet and we aren’t in a desperate mood, though we would not be talking to Chelsea, if we had totally opposing views.”
Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke have also been linked with the Belgium international but Allofs stressed that if De Bruyne does leave West London, as expected, then it will only be for Wolfsburg.
“The matter of which club Kevin would move to – unlike before Christmas – is no longer doubtful – that will be the VfL [Wolfsburg].”
Allofs insisted they were moving for De Bruyne in order to enhance their squad.
“It is an attempt to make us a better team. If it succeeds, it is not the decision against one of our players. We are strong enough without De Bruyne.”
