Schwarzer signs new Stamford Bridge deal The Mirror have revealed that experienced goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has signed a new one-year contract with Chelsea.
A deal for the 41-year-old Australian furthers speculation that long-term number one Petr Cech is set to leave the club, with Belgian international Thibaut Courtois set to take over the starting spot after three years on loan at Atletico Madrid.
Schwarzer made 12 appearances for the Blues during his debut campaign, including the Champions League semi-final against Atletico, for which Cech was injured.
Filipe Luis edging closer to Chelsea move
The Daily Express are reporting that Filipe Luis is edging closer to a move to Chelsea, after telling current club Atletico Madrid that he wants to leave.
Chelsea view the 28-year-old left-back as the ideal replacement for the recently departed Ashley Cole, and believe they can secure a deal in the near future.
Luis is unhappy with his current wage at Madrid, and also believes a move will help further his international chances with Brazil. He could join teammate and former Chelsea player Tiago in making the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
