Blues could miss out on highly-rated Porto defender.Chelsea could be set to miss out on the signing of Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala this summer, with L’Equipe reporting that Manchester City have seen a £32m bid for the player accepted.
The 23-year-old is one of the most in-demand young players in Europe at the moment after emerging as a top class centre-back during his time with Porto, and has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona in the past.
Still, he could now be heading to the Etihad Stadium ahead of next season after City finally agreed a fee with the Portuguese giants, though it could still be that Chelsea will look to match that offer.
Having sold David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, Jose Mourinho could still do with one signing in that position, and Mangala could be an ideal candidate to come in.
The French international is still to hold personal talks with City over a move, and may still be tempted to listen to offers from other clubs if they do come in.
