FC Tokyo midfielder Yoshinori Muto is closing in on a move to his next club after agreeing a four-year contract, though Chelsea are set to miss out on the Japanese starlet, according to CaughtOffside.

The Blues had been linked with the 22-year-old in recent months, with Jose Mourinho eyeing a surprise move for the little-known player from the J-League.
Still, it now looks as though Muto will snub interest from Stamford Bridge after signing a four-year deal with Bundesliga outfit Mainz for next season.
It remains to be seen how the youngster will fare in European football after making this step up, and it may be wise for Chelsea to bide their time over a deal for him anyway.
