Steven Naismith recorded a hat trick against Chelsea to seal a crushing blow to the Blues and their title hopes.
Some people know how to rub salt on the Blues’ wounds after any given loss, but who would’ve thought Chelsea’s own website would be the ones to do it?
Following Chelsea’s 3-1 loss to Everton – a loss that was highlighted by a hat-trick by Everton’s Steven Naismith – the Blues’ media department made an unfortunate gaffe that angered a lot of Chelsea fans.
Chelsea fans on the club’s mailer list received an email titled “A hat-trick of offers” advertising merchandise for the official team store. Needless to say, it didn’t go over well.

No @ChelseaFC, I don’t want to know about ‘a hat-trick of offers’ in the online megastore. I’ve had enough of hat-tricks this weekend.

Through five matches this season, Chelsea have just 1 win and 4 points. In the history of the Premier League, no team has won the title with fewer than seven points after five matches – and Chelsea have never had fewer than 10 points prior to a title victory.
