Chelsea meet Arsenal in a Premier League title clash with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger hoping to defeat Jose Mourinho for the first time in his 1000th game. Read the key battles between the sides here.
Eden Hazard v Bacary Sagna
Eden Hazard was challenged by Jose Mourinho earlier this season to prove himself worthy of comparison with the likes of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
The Belgian ace is having his best season to date, but has not yet earned a place in the upper echelon of the game.
This season he has managed 14 goals and seven assists in Premier League and UEFA Champions League, which is well below Ronaldo’s 38 goals and 10 assists and Messi’s tallies of 26 goals and nine last passes.
Nevertheless, while Hazard isn’t there yet, he has proved himself amongst the very best players in the Premier League, and will represent a huge test for Bacary Sagna – arguably the best right back in the country.
The France international will stick tightly to Hazard throughout, and is a fine one on one defender.
Given that so much of Chelsea’s play goes through their Belgian winger, if Sagna is successful, the game could swing in the Gunners’ favour, and Hazard will have to be at his best for the Blues to succeed.
