Chelsea:
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says he will not risk Gary Cahill for the visit of Crystal Palace after the England defender almost tore his quadriceps in the Champions League win over Steau Bucharest.
“We don’t take risks, therefore Cahill does not play tomorrow. He is not injured but almost injured with pain in quadriceps,” the Portuguese told a press conference.
Cahill’s England teammate Ashley Cole is also set to miss out, with Cesar Azpilicueta set to return to left-back.
“I have two number one left-backs in Cole and Azpilicueta. I trust both and it is good to have options,” added Mourinho.
Brazilian duo David Luiz and Oscar made their comebacks against Steau and are also expected to be in contention.
