While Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are perhaps more illustrious names, and Phil Jones and Chris Smalling more regularly earning media recognition, it might come as something of a surprise to see Jonny Evans chosen as the Manchester United centre back on this list.
Nevertheless, Evans is worth his place in the side, with his calmness in defence and quality tactical play and tackling a sign that he continues to improve.
